A variation is not automatically an experiment
Changing a colour or headline produces another asset. A useful test begins with a question about the audience, message or experience. Decide what you want to learn before creating the alternatives.
Make the difference meaningful
Compare distinct reasons to choose the product, different ways to explain a benefit or alternative responses to a real barrier. Keep the offer and destination consistent where possible so the result is easier to interpret.
Use AI to explore, then apply judgement
AI tools can help generate directions and adapt approved ideas for different formats. Human review protects factual accuracy, brand expression and relevance. More options are useful only when there is a clear way to select and evaluate them.
Read the result in context
Look at qualified actions as well as engagement. Consider the audience, placement, spend and amount of evidence available. Small differences or short runs may not support a firm conclusion.
Turn the learning into the next brief
Record the hypothesis, creative differences, observations and next action. A testing programme becomes more useful when each round builds on what the previous round taught the team.
